What's happening
A section of the Sumner Link Trail reopened Oct. 30 after crews completed a significant portion of a White River levee preservation project.
About 780 feet of the Sumner Commercial Levee along the White River’s right bank were reinforced during the project. The work area extended from 16th Street East toward 24th Street East.
Work to add a permanent fence around the detention pond began Dec. 7 and was completed Dec. 18.
2021 work
Plants native to the area will be planted on the landward side of the levee around March 2021.
