Pierce County Parks and Recreation is pleased to offer you an opportunity to purchase a bench in honor of a loved one. With a plaque on a bench in a County park or one of popular trail sites, you can recognize milestones or memories in one of our many iconic settings.
Commemorative benches cost $5,000 each. The price includes the cost of the bench, a 5” x 10” stainless steel memorial plaque with inscription, freight, installation, and maintenance. Benches are available in two styles:
Park Sites - Black Benches
Trail Sites - Green Benches
|Six feet long black powder-coated steel bench with back rest.||Four feet long green powder-coated steel bench with back rest.|
Benches are surface mounted on a 4’ x 10’ concrete slab. Benches require a 6 to 8 week lead time for manufacturing and shipping.
The program operates within selective parks or along paved trails throughout the county. Bench locations are predetermined by the department. Please review the following maps commemorative bench availability:
For interest in possible ADA site locations, please contact the Donation Coordinator. For interest in possible bench sites at Chambers Creek Regional Park, please contact the Chambers Creek Foundation.
Upon receipt, it will take approximately 8-10 weeks to complete installation. Benches are installed spring through fall.
- Once the bench is installed, the donor will receive a letter notifying them that the bench has been placed with a map of the location of the bench.
- A donation period will last 10 years. Within this time, Pierce County Parks and Recreation will replace the bench in the event of damage, at no cost to the donor. After 10 years, the bench will be for renewals for the cost of a new donation, with the first right of refusal given to the original donor.
