The South Hill Community Plan was adopted by Pierce County on April 22, 2003. South Hill is centrally located in Pierce County and encompasses approximately 19 square miles. Over the past few decades, South Hill has grown exponentially and continues to steadily grow. As land use issues arise, it is increasingly important to have a clear vision and plan for future development.
The Community Plan provides residents, property owners, business people and Pierce County government with a detailed sense of how the community wants South Hill to develop in the future.
This Community Plan Update is a chance to review and identify issues within the Plan that may or may not reflect the Community's goals and vision for future development. The Plan update will include revisions to policies, land use designations, infrastructure and more.
The South Hill Land Use Advisory Commission will draft updates to the Community Plan and hold public meetings in 2018. Community members are encouraged to participate in this process. When the Land Use Advisory Commission has completed their draft, it will be considered at Public Hearings by the Planning Commission, and then considered for adoption by the County Council. The update is expected to be heard at the Council in late 2018 or 2019.
