The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) outlines Pierce County's future plans for transportation improvement projects and programs. The TIP is the primary budget workplan for building transportation improvement projects in Pierce County. This annually updated document is prepared pursuant to Revised Code of Washington (RCW) Chapters 36.54 and 36.81.
Adopted: 2019-2024 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and Fourteen-Year Ferry Program
August 27, 2019: A public hearing was held at 9:30 a.m., at the Public Meeting Room, 2401 S 35th St., Tacoma to present the 2020-2025 Draft TIP and Fourteen-year Ferry Program to the Pierce County Planning Commission. The Planning Commission voted unanimously (5-0) to recommend approval of the Draft TIP and Ferry Program.
September 11, 2019: Submitted to the County Executive and the County Council.
October 8, 2019: A public meeting was held at 9:30 a.m., before the Economic and Infrastructure Committee (EIDC), at the Council Public Meeting Room, 930 Tacoma Avenue South, Room 1045, Tacoma, to present the TIP and Ferry Program. The EIDC voted to continue Proposal No. 2019-76 to October 22, 2019.
October 22, 2019: A public meeting is scheduled at 9:30 a.m., before the EIDC, at the Council Public Meeting Room, 930 Tacoma Avenue South, Room 1045, Tacoma, to consider the recommendation to adopt Proposal No. 2019-76.
November 2019: Full Council review and final approval anticipated.
