  • Rates are effective March 1, 2019.
  • State of Washington's 3.6% Refuse Tax is not included.
  • Some items, like appliances, may cost more for disposal. For prices, visit LRI's website or call (253) 847-7555.
  • These rates do not apply at the Tacoma Transfer Center (not part of Pierce County's system).
Residential Rates
Garbage at Hidden Valley, Prairie Ridge, Purdy

  • $32.87 minimum charge for 400 pounds or less.
  • $164.34 per ton for more than 400 pounds.
Garbage at Anderson Island and Key Center

  • $32.87 minimum charge for one cubic yard or less.
  • $32.87 per cubic yard for more than one cubic yard.
Yard Waste (All facilities)

FREE
For yard waste generated in Pierce County's solid waste system. Branches must be smaller than four inches in diameter and less than four feet long.
1 ton max at Prairie Ridge/5 cubic yards max at Anderson Island and Key Center

Beginning May 1, 2019:
A fee of $93.48 per ton will be charged for all non-system yard waste* collected at transfer stations in Pierce County.
Minimum charge is $18.70 for up to 400 pounds.

*Non-system includes yard waste from Tacoma, Ruston, Auburn, Pacific and JBLM. It also includes yard waste from other counties.
