2009-2010 Season

PCMH FAQ's and the 2009-2010 Season Schedule

WHAT IS HOUSE HOCKEY?

Like many youth athletic programs your child will have an opportunity to play this sport at many different competitive levels. In hockey, a house program is typically for those athletes that choose to play the sport at a recreational level.

The House Level is the least expensive level of play. Our Organization will play in either the North Puget Sound League (NPSHL) and/or the Pacific Northwest Amateur Hockey (PNAHA) Squirt League. All teams will be assigned a volunteer Head Coach, volunteer Assistant Coach and team manager as assigned by the Head Coach. All volunteers must pass a USA Hockey background check and be able to secure a CEP coaches card for the level being coached.

All games will be officiated by USA Hockey registered Officials. If your child has already been a part of our Hockey 101 program please check with Jared Bucci to find out if they are ready for this level of play.

HOW LONG IS THE SEASON AND WHAT IS THE PRACTICE SCHEDULE?

The PCMH season will run from October 2009 - March 2010. This is a 20 week practice schedule which will include a tournament at the end of the season (dates and location will be determined at a later date). MINI MITES will have (2) two 10 week seasons. PCMH will take November 23rd-29th, December 21st-January 3rd off due to holiday conflicts. Depending on League rules teams may be eligible to participate in holiday tournaments during these dates upon approval from PCMH.

  • (10 weeks) Mini-Mite (birth years 2004-2005): (2) two-shared ice practice/scrimmages Fri (pm)/Sun (am) (note: all practices & scrimmages will be at Sprinker through the 10week season).

  • Mite (birth years 2001-2003): (2) two-shared ice practices per week Tues (pm)/Thurs (pm) & games 1-2 per week schedule pending.

  • Squirt (birth years 1999-2000): (1) one full ice on Mon (pm) or Fri (pm) & (1) one shared ice practice Tues (pm) or Wed (am) depending on your team. Games 1-2 per week schedule pending.

  • Peewee (birth years 1997-1998): (2) two full ice practices per week Mon (pm), Thurs (pm) or Fri (am) practice schedule pending coach's decision. Games 1-2 per week schedule pending.

All season games will be on Saturdays and Sundays with times and locations TBA by the league commissioner. You will be assigned to a team based on age/ability to insure all teams are equally matched for balanced play throughout the season. Please do not ask us to move your child based on schedules as we will not be able to accommodate everyone with these requests.
