Permit Fees
Construction permit fees which include fees for building, plumbing, mechanical, and similar construction related permits issued by the Building Official, Impact Fees, Traffic Impact Fees, and land use related fees which include fees for variances, use permits, subdivision, site development, and similar application types. The Fire Prevention Bureau has fees for permits and annual safety inspections.
Voluntary Seismic Home Retrofit Information
The Home Earthquake Retrofit Information Series booklets are intended to promote public safety and welfare by helping you, the homeowner or contractor, reduce the risk of earthquake-induced damage in existing wood-frame residential buildings.
Permit Submittal Requirements
A printable list of the submittal requirements for various Pierce County permits is provided. A permit application must include this information in order to be determined complete and accepted for review by Pierce County.
Pre-filing Meeting
The Pre-filing meeting is available to applicants for projects requiring Land Use Review. The meeting will include a Land Use Planner and representatives from Development Engineering and Resource Management, as needed. The Pre-filing meeting will provide the applicant with all required application material, an understanding of the hearing or administrative review process, and a list of requirements for application submittal of a land use/plat.
Predevelopment Conference
The Predevelopment Conference is a voluntary process designed to identify, up front, critical items in a project which should be addressed at the conceptual stage in order to avoid or minimize technical problems during the review and processing of a permit application. The scope of a Predevelopment Conference is not to provide detailed review normally done after the application is filed nor to provide design work relative to the project, although enough guidance will be provided to facilitate understanding in all problem areas.
