On February 19, 2008, the Pierce County Council adopted Resolution No. R2008-12s2, forming the SCAC and appointing its 22 members to make recommendations for an update to the Pierce County Shoreline Master Program (SMP). Committee members represent a broad range of interest groups, all sharing a high level of interest and experience in shoreline management issues. The committee has an important role in the public participation process for the SMP Update.
The initial meeting of the SCAC was held on Tuesday, March 4. Regularly scheduled meetings will take place on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m., at the Pierce County Public Services Building (Pierce County Annex), 2401 South 35th Street, in Tacoma. But check agendas to be sure that there are no scheduling changes. Meetings are recorded and recordings can be requested by calling (253) 798-2785.
