Residential Building Permit Applications
In an effort to reduce the amount of time you spend waiting in line to apply, we've instituted a system that does not require an appointment or you having to arrive early in the morning. Instead most residential applications will no longer be processed while you wait, you will drop off your submittal materials and it will be processed later. The nature of your project and the property it is on will dictate the depth of the initial review. A check for the application fees is required and you will be contacted after the processing has been completed. Here are links to some general information and the required submittal forms:

Some of the above forms are not required for Mobile Home Permits.

Commercial Building Permit Applications
Commercial applications require an appointment. Please contact Carolyn Salsberry at (253) 798-2704 to schedule an appointment. For general submittal information please see the Commercial Submittal Standard. It is recommended that most commercial projects have a pre-filing review prior to application.

Environmental, Land Use and Site Development
No appointment is required for these application types. Customers will be processed on a first come, first served basis. General information regarding applying for these application types can by found on our Submittal Standard, Application Forms and Handout pages. Fire Prevention Bureau
No appointment is required for these application types. Customers will be processed on a first come, first served basis.
