Jail Correspondence:
|

The Pierce County Jail reserves the right to reject any item that it considers to be unsuitable. All mail must include the sender's return address on the envelope. Please include inmate's booking number on all correspondence to ensure accurate delivery. The list below includes some of the most common reasons for mail being returned.
Acceptable items for U.S. Mail delivery to inmates include: letters, money orders, cashier's checks, photographs, newspaper clippings, written documents forwarded for signature and legal mail between attorney and inmate. New paperback books or magazines may be shipped directly from the publisher, distributor, bookstore or internet bookseller, They may not be sent directly from an individual. Limit 3 at one time. No hardback or used books allowed.
Any items considered contraband will result in the envelope and its contents being returned to sender or investigated for criminal violation.
Inmates classified as Level 1 or Level 2 are not allowed outside books, magazines, newspapers, or articles clipped from those sources unless they directly pertain to their cases.
