Eligibility and Housing:
Inmates must be a classification level of 3 to 8 to attend classes. Most male inmates taking classes will be housed in the Educational Unit located in the New Jail. Inmates who do not conform with jail rules will be removed from the Educational Unit and not be eligible to participate in classes. Inmates are expected to attend all classes. Court appearance, illness, work or conflicting classes will be considered excused absences. Two (2) unexcused absences will result in the inmate being dismissed from the program.
Educational Opportunities:
Adult education GED which include:
- Pre-General Educational Development (Pre-GED)
- GED testing twice a month, on site, for students prepared to test
Study materials, from elementary to college level classes are available for inmates interested in furthering their education through self-study.
