Meridian Habitat Park

Meridian Habitat Park and Community Center, known to locals as the Puyallup Amphitheatre, is a 36-acre park that includes a community center, several smaller buildings, wooded areas, open grassy areas, wetlands, and a variety of wildlife habitat.

Master Site Plan Process:

Meridian Habitat Park has had a series of public workshops followed by an open house to determine park use and development. The Master Plan was developed by AHBL, the consulting firm, based on recommendations from residents. On June 5, 2007, the final master plan was unveiled to acclaim and excitement for our newest Pierce County Park.

The final plan includes, but will not be limited to, the community center, a skate park, a children's play area, areas for volleyball and basketball, a spray park, and lots of open space. Although the amphitheater outdoor set recently was destroyed by fire, outdoor concerts and activities are still possibilities.

The site can host a variety of events such as weddings, receptions, staff retreats, classes, lectures, and concerts.

The outside grounds are available for drop-in picnics or may be reserved for larger outdoor gatherings with a lovely pond setting and walking area.

  • Community Center Auditorium has a 300 person seating capacity; 200 if seated around tables.
  • The large kitchen has conventional and microwave ovens, one refrigerator, one sink, and adequate counter space that make this a functional facility.
  • Several break out rooms are available for small meetings or classes.
Please call for availability or to schedule a visit with Cara at 253-841-8515 or ccross@co.pierce.wa.us.

Meridian Habitat Park is located on the corner of 144th Street and Meridian Avenue South in the South Hill area.
