MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney's Office is to uphold the public trust in the pursuit of justice and the enforcement of the law.

OFFICE OVERVIEW
The elected Prosecuting Attorney is Gerald A. Horne . Mr. Horne leads a staff of over 235 men and women, making this department the largest law office in Pierce County. The annual budget exceeds $26 million dollars. The office is organized into three major divisions: the Criminal, Civil and Family Support Divisions.
The Criminal Division, which includes the Felony, Misdemeanor and Juvenile Sections, charges over 6000 felonies and 10,000 misdemeanors per year, as well as over 2000 cases involving juveniles. Victim-Witness Assistance Services provides information, support and referrals to citizens who are victimized by crime in this community. The El Cid program is a diversion program for first offenders.
The Civil Division serves as legal counsel for Pierce County elected officials, department heads and county agencies. Attorneys assigned to this division provide legal advice and represent the County in lawsuits.
The Family Support Division takes judicial action to establish paternity, to set or modify child support and to enforce orders against non-paying parents. This division collects in excess of one million dollars in child support each year.
The Investigative Services Division provides investigative support to all divisions of the Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
