Adult Day Care & Adult Day Health

Provided at four sites in Pierce County, Adult Day Care meets social and therapeutic needs of elderly and disabled persons. A mid-day meal is also served. Some funding is available to pay for services. Specialists at the centers work to seek out alternate funding sources for those in need. In addition, there may be funding available for veterans through the VA.

Three sites are also qualified to provide higher level Adult Day Health Services. To be eligible for Adult Day Health, an adult must have a skilled nursing need or a rehabilitative need.

To be eligible for Adult Day Care an adult must:

  • be chronically ill or disabled, socially isolate and/or confused; or have mild to moderate dementia; and
  • be unable or unsafe to be left alone during the day; and
  • require supervision or protection in a group setting, and the adult day care center's service programming and activities meet a therapeutic goal in the client's service plan.

In most cases, transportation to the site can be arranged. If a person has Medicaid and Level II care, Transpro can transport client to the center and back home again. Staff personnel can assist clients with a Shuttle application.

Please call the facilities to ask about the specifics.
