There are two types of Pierce County proclamations that can be prepared by the County. An Executive proclamation (signed by Executive Ladenburg) is prepared to be read at a community event or retirement celebration. A Joint Executive/Council proclamation (signed by Executive Ladenburg and members of the Pierce County Council) is read during a televised council meeting and is presented to a representative in attendance.

REQUESTING AN EXECUTIVE OR JOINT EXECUTIVE/COUNCIL PROCLAMATION

To acquire a proclamation, please print, complete, and return a proclamation request form. Click here to download the free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is required to open the form. The Communications staff can provide a sample proclamation for you to use as a guide in writing your proclamation. Or if you prefer, we would be happy to write it for you.

If you request an Executive Proclamation, you may pick it up at the Executive's office in the County-City Building (930 Tacoma Ave. S., Room 737), once it has been prepared and signed.

If you request a Joint Executive/Council Proclamation, you will be notified when your proclamation will be read at a County Council meeting. A representative will need to be in attendance to accept the proclamation. Most meetings are held Tuesday afternoons in Council Chambers beginning at 3 p.m. at the County-City Building (930 Tacoma Ave. S., Room 1046).

If you have questions, please contact Lillian Allred by e-mail or phone at (253) 798-6209 or Council staff at (253) 798-7777.
