EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2009
The filing fees for all Superior Court domestic relation, adoption and paternity cases filed under the provisions of Title 26, RCW, were increased by $10.00. This change was in accordance with the adoption of Pierce County Ordinance 2008-81 which increased the filing fee surcharge for courthouse/domestic relation facilitator services allowed by RCW 26.12.240 to $20.00 per case.

Our Mission
The mission of the Clerk of the Superior Court is to safeguard Superior Court trial records and provide accurate, timely and complete information regarding them to all constituents, including the public, courts, legal community and law enforcement.

The County Clerk and Clerk of Superior Court is one of the officials provided for by the state Constitution. The Clerk's duties are mostly administrative in nature, being quasi-judicial in some cases. The Clerk is responsible for maintaining the records of all cases filed in the Superior Court dating back to 1890's. The Clerk has several quasi-judicial duties, which include issuance of various writs, orders, subpoenas and warrants in support of the Court's decisions, as well as administration of the Mandatory Arbitration System. The office is divided into eight functional areas: Administration, Arbitration, Domestic Services, Legal Services, Probate & Court Services, Involuntary Commitment, Legal Financial Obligation (LFO) Collections and Fiscal Services.

In Person Access
Superior Court case records are available for review in the Clerk's Office from 8:30 to 4:30 daily, Monday - Friday, except on holidays. All court records and documents that do not have access restricted by state statute, court rule or court order are available for review.

Pierce County Superior Court case information from 1991 to present, including litigants, filings, and proceedings, may be accessed online at http://www.co.pierce.wa.us/linx/ by selecting the 'Search' tab and inserting the name or case number in the appropriate block. A selection of on-line and inter-active forms approved for use is also available at this address by selecting the 'Forms' tab.

Access to electronic images of court documents filed since January 1, 2002, that do not have access restricted by state statute, court rule or court order, is available by applying for subscription services.
