MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Aging and Long Term Care is to ensure that Pierce County residents have available a range of community-based services that promote dignity and maximize individual choice.

WHO ARE WE?

Pierce County Aging and Long Term Care (ALTC) is one of thirteen designated Area Agencies on Aging in Washington State.

It is our job to speak for the rights of elders, and to plan and manage long-term care programs that help older and disabled people to remain secure and independent.

WHAT IS LONG-TERM CARE?

Long-term care services provide needed help when disability or illness makes it difficult to meet all of your own care needs.

The help is provided by several agencies working together, to make sure you receive the services you need.

Besides Pierce County Aging and Long Term Care, the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services and other local agencies are involved in providing long-term care services.

SERVICES WE PROVIDE

WHAT CAN WE DO FOR YOU?

  • We review your service needs and eligibility with you.
  • We help you make informed choices and access services.
  • We help you develop a plan that addresses your health, housing, and safety needs.
  • We regularly review your situation and help you make changes to the plan as needed.
