Retirement - Commissioner Marshall

Commissioner Marshall

It is with a mixture of regret and envy I announce Commissioner James Marshall has determined to retire from Superior Court. He has been a steady and tireless worker for the court and he has represented us well. Jim has also been a wonderful colleague to us all. Fortunately, he will remain on the job for a couple of months more and you have time to let him know how much he will be missed. His last work day is July 24.

While he intends to make his home near Tucson, Arizona, JIm expects to establish an arbitration and mediation practice that will bring him regularly back to Tacoma. Because he remains too young and vigorous to commit completely to whittlin' and spittin' he has promised that he can continue to assist us in the capacity of a pro tem Commissioner. We will, of course, look forward to having him back as often as he is willing to do so. Good luck and best wishes, Jim, from all of us in Superior Court.

Graduation Gift Presented

Sarah is the daughter of corrections officer Tom McKeown who died in a fishing accident in 2004. Her 'Corrections Family' raised a total of $4,600.00 that was presented to her last Friday, June 19th. At the time of her father's death, Sarah (age 13) promised she 'would make her father proud'. She went on to graduate with honors, was the ASB President and has been accepted to Georgetown University.

Working Copy Pilot Program

Superior Court Judge Lisa Worswick and Judge Linda Lee are participating in a LINX pilot project to allow the filing party to submit their working copies as part of the e-file process.

While this pilot project is running, the option to electronically deliver working copies will appear for matters set before Judge Lee and Judge Worswick only.
