Pierce County provides all regular full-time employees with a $10,000 life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance policy at no cost to the employee. Regular part-time employees are offered the plan at a pro-rated cost.

In addition, employees are offered the opportunity to purchase supplemental term life insurance. It comes in $10,000 increments from $10,000 to $300,000 and may be purchased as an employee-only plan or a family plan. There is no specific open enrollment period for supplemental life insurance. Approval is subject to medical underwriting.
