County Council to discuss proposed 2017 supplemental budget

The Pierce County Council will begin review and discussion of Ordinance 2017-13, the proposed 2017 supplemental budget, during a Committee of the Whole meeting on Monday, March 27 at
1:30 p.m. For meeting information visit here.

Monday's meeting will focus on two main topics:

- An update from the Pierce County Budget and Finance Department on the 2016 year-end financials.

- A presentation by the Executive's office on the supplemental budget requests.

The Council expects to hold additional Committes of the Whole to further discuss the proposed supplemental prior to referring it to the full Council.  Further meeting dates will be established at the
March 27 meeting.

The ordinance being considered by the Council proposes updates to the approved 2017 budget.

Pierce County’s Community Development Committee to hear ordinance adopting Comprehensive Plan Amendments

The Pierce County Council’s Community Development (CD) Committee is hearing an ordinance that adopts 2017 Comprehensive Plan amendments and the public is encouraged to participate and comment.

During the CD meeting on Monday, April 3 at 1:30 p.m., the committee will conduct another public hearing on Ordinance 2017-6 adopting amendments to the Pierce County Comprehensive Plan policies and land use designations.

The public can provide comment on the Comprehensive Plan amendments in a variety of ways including Commenting on the Legislation, in writing, by email, and in-person at the meeting.

There are currently four possible amendments:
     Amendment 1 related to Agricultural Resource Land.
     Amendment 2 related to Agricultural Resource Land.
     Amendment 3 related to Agricultural Resource Land.
     Amendment 4 related to Craft Distilleries.
