The Pierce County Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC) serves in an advisory and technical capacity to the Pierce County Council and Pierce County Public Works on matters relating to management of recycling services and solid waste disposal.
SWAC members are citizens, members of public interest groups, professionals from the business community, operators of solid waste collection and recycling companies, and representatives of local governments.

Help shape local recycling and waste reduction programs by becoming a SWAC member. All interested citizens, especially young adults and business representatives, are encouraged to apply.
SWAC members serve a four-year term. Members are appointed by the Pierce County Executive and approved by the Pierce County Council.
